Barbara Ann Van Boven

Barbara Ann Van Boven, 74, entered into rest on December 15, 2017 in Ripon, CA. She was born on May 6, 1943 in Williams County, North Dakota. Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Richard L. Van Boven, and her parents Chester Thorpe and Freda Thorpe Catalano.

Barbara leaves behind her loving children, Shelly (Brad) Clark of Ripon and Bret (Chrisy) Van Boven of Escalon, her grandchildren Nathan (Courtney) Clark of Ripon, Matthew Clark of Ripon, Justin Van Boven of Stockton, Kayla Van Boven of Macon, GA, Trevor Van Boven of Escalon, Hunter Van Boven of Escalon and Andy Harrison of Modesto. She will also be missed by her one great grandchild and her siblings Bruce (Shirley) Thorpe of Redding, Yvonne Wade of Homer, Alaska, Judy Durham of Manteca and Peter Thorpe of Stockton.

Barbara was a beloved wife, mother and nana. Her greatest joy in life was the happiness and well-being of her family. She was famous for her stocking stuffers and Easter baskets, no matter the age of her grandchildren. Earthly possessions were not important to her, but a phone call, hug or visit made her day, nd of course, her daily trips to Starbucks. She will be greatly missed forever in our hearts.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 26th at 10am at Ripon Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon.
