Charles Edwin Johnson

Charles passed away on April 1, 2017 in Ripon, California at the age of 76. He was born in Merced on January 24, 1941 to James and Leona Johnson, both who have preceded him in death.

Charles lived most of his life in Hilmar, having attended Elim Elementary School, Hilmar Junior High School and graduated from Hilmar High School. Charles lived his last 10 years in Ripon.

Charles worked 32 years for Armours-ConAgra-Foster Farms Turkey Production in Turlock, where he retired in 2003. He traveled throughout the USA, Europe and Mexico. He was a faithful fan of the San Francisco Giants all his life.

Charles is survived by his brother, Ron (Kathy) Johnson of San Ramon, his sister Charlene (Jim) Rogers of Modesto, Nephews: Keith (Hillary) Johnson, Jeremy (Amanda) Rogers, Nieces: Julie (Marshall) King, and Christiana (Spencer) Greene. He will also be missed by his 3 great-nephews, Parker King, CJ and Cael Rogers, and his 5 great-nieces Shannon King, Tatum Johnson, Kaitlyn & Addilyn Greene and Molly Rogers.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hilmar Covenant Church in Hilmar on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:30am. Charlie’s family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Bethany Home for all the loving care they provided.
