Charlotte A. Ressler

Charlotte “Boo” Ressler, age 86 of Ripon, CA passed away on February 7th, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Charlotte was born June 12th, 1930 in Oakland, CA to Leland and Violet Moore and her sister Peggy Moore. Charlotte had many wonderful stories of growing up in the Bay Area. She loved having family nearby and they would all get together for Sunday dinners.

 Charlotte graduated from High School in 1942 and quickly became a Switchboard Operator at Cal-Pac/De Monte in San Francisco.  She met Eugene Ressler through some mutual friends and they fell in love and were married for 54 years.  After a honeymoon to several state parks, they settled down in Redwood City for a brief time. They then decided to move to Ripon, CA in 1961 and take over Charlottes Dad’s almond ranch. They spent most of their married lives on that ranch, raising a family and enjoying a quite life with family and good friends.

 In addition to raising a family Charlotte volunteered at her children’s school and was church secretary for many years at Bethany Covenant Church in Ripon. She found great joy in caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved to bowl and she and Gene looked forward to their Friday night bowling league with some wonderful friends. She also enjoyed her church family at Escalon Covenant Church, her knitting group and everything butterflies and purple.  She loved the many vacations in the US, cruises and overseas.

 She is survived by her son Karl Ressler (Len), her daughter Marta Kingsbury (Tim), her grandchildren- Sarah, Billy, Ava and Owen and her great-grandson, Eddie.  As well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that she adored.  She leaves many wonderful friends behind and one that was more like a sister, Marilyn Van Dyke.

 There will be a service to celebrate her life on Friday, March 3rd at Escalon Covenant Church at 11:00 AM.  Graveside Service at Burwood Cemetery at 2:30 to lay Gene and Charlotte to eternal rest together.

 In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her name to Escalon Covenant Church, 1155 Escalon Ave, Escalon, CA 95320.

Gone but never a moment will you be forgotten; till we meet again.
