Welcome to the memorial page for

Donald Peter Berg

July 14, 1947 ~ December 10, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

After a long battle with illnesses, Donald Berg, 70, was called to his eternal heavenly home.  His faith gave him the strength to meet his struggles with grace and humility, and the knowledge that ultimately, God was in control.

Don was born in Stockton, CA.  He graduated from Linden High School and attended Fresno State.  He recently retired from his career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, but continued to manage the Berg family ranch in Linden, farming cherries and walnuts.

Don enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his wife, Pam, of 32 years.  Annual golf trips to Plumas and Monterey with the guys were special times for him.  He used his gift of leadership throughout his involvement in many community organizations and Christian ministries.  He served on the board of Modesto Symphony Orchestra, American Heart Association, Modesto Kiwanis, Spring Creek Country Club and Youth for Christ.  He was an active member of Big Valley Grace Church; his passion for studying God’s Word led him to become a group discussion leader of Men’s Bible Study Fellowship.  He was also a member of Spring Creek Country Club.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin & Susan Berg; his brothers; Jim and Bob; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Helen Perry; and his sister-in-law, Cynthia Trio. He is survived by his wife, Pam; his sister Susan (Stanley) Buscombe; his brother- in- law, Ray (Kerry ) Perry; his sister-in laws, Diane(Bob) Gilliland and Anne Smith; his nephews, Michael (Irene) Berg, Jeff (Nicole) Berg, Patrick(Mollie) Perry and Greg Holden; and his nieces,  Kimberley  Buscombe and Clare and Erin Perry and Ashley Holden.  Don enjoyed the company of his great nieces and nephews, Lacey, Sophia, Hannah, James and Hunter, and was a great supporter of their various sport and school activities and milestones.

Memorial services will be held at Big Valley Grace Church, Tully Road, Modesto, CA on January 18th at 10 am followed by a Celebration of Life at Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Youth for Christ, 1101 M Street, Suite 1, Modesto CA 95354 or Ripon Consolidated Fire Dept.  142 S. Stockton Ave, Ripon, CA  95366.
