Edna Mae Van Laar

Edna Mae Van Laar, 84, entered into rest on April 6, 2017 in Ripon, CA. She was born on March 29, 1933 in Modesto, CA. She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, William Van Laar, and her children Loren Van Laar (Jacki) of Madera, Steve Van Laar (Cris) of Farmington, Roy Van Laar (Becky) of Ripon, Kevin Van Laar (Christy) of Escalon. Edna will also be missed by her grandchildren Michael Van Laar of Farmington, Michelle Van Laar of Turlock, Geoffrey Van Laar of Fresno, Aaron Van Laar of Fremont, Aleise Van Laar of Escalon, Paige Van Laar of Fremont, Hailey Van Laar of G.R.Michigan, 3 great grandchildren, and her siblings Leona Stuit of Escalon, Douglas Van Dyken of Ripon, Lloyd Van Dyken of Manteca and Verna Sabo of Lancaster.

Edna proudly worked as a registered nurse for 35 years. She also loved to volunteer with her husband, Willie, for Calvinest Cadet Corps for 37 years. She served on the Board for Sierra Salem Christian Homes and was also an active member of Friendship Club at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. Edna enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and camping. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. A Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 1-4pm at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 South Palm Avenue in Ripon. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 17 at 10am at Ripon Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 517 Orange Avenue, Ripon. Remembrances can be made to Sierra Salem Christian Homes, PO Box 86, Ripon or Friendship Club at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church.
