George John Micheal

George John Micheal passed away suddenly at his home on July 7, 2017 following a short illness, at the age of 88.  George was born on December 21, 1928 in Worland, Wyoming where he grew up before moving to Escalon at a young age.  George graduated from Escalon High School and was a resident of Escalon until the time of his passing.

Out of High School George enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War as an Army Sergeant.  After his time in the service George worked as a dairyman and later as a postman for 30 years.  After retirement from the postal service, George drove truck in his free time.  George was a volunteer fireman in Escalon for several years and was an active member in the Escalon Lions Club.  George also loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

George leaves behind his companion of the past 15 years, Bea Martin, his brother, William Micheal (Dolores) along with many nieces and nephews.  George is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Harris Micheal and his siblings, Jake, John, Molly, Elizabeth and Marie.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels.  A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18 at 10:00 AM at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.  Donations in George’s name may be made to the charity of choice.  To sign his online guestbook please visit; www.deeganfuneralchapels.com
