June Lewis

June Lewis was born on June 5, 1927 in Escalon, California, to Joseph and Clementina Peini. She attended River Grammar School and graduated from Escalon High School. June married Bud Lewis on June 1, 1947. Together, they had three daughters, Jennifer, Joanne and Jayne.

June lived her entire life in Escalon. She worked at Escalon Packers and helped her husband manage his ranches. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Escalon Historical Society.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her infant daughter, Jayne, her granddaughter, Kristine Anne Green. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Oliver) Fellguth of Marina and Joanne Silvagni of Carmel. She is also survived by her sisters Rosanne Roset of West Covina, Doris Shaw and Dianne (Walt) Arnold of Escalon, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will be held at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin Street, Escalon, on July 27th  from 5-7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 19399 E. Highway 120, Ripon, on July 28th  at 10 a.m.

The family requests donations to Gentiva Hospice, 4120 Dublin Blvd. Suite 105, Dublin, CA 94568 in lieu of flowers.
