Adrianna Miedema

Adrianna Nellie Miedema, fondly known as Adri, was born in Modesto, California, on May 23, 1935, to Jacob and Georgeann Moulyn. She attended Ripon Christian Schools and developed a love for softball during her childhood. Adri and her high school sweetheart, Gerald Miedema, married on August 13, 1954. She served as a faithful homemaker and as mother to four children — Dennis, Peggy, Barbara, and Sheri. As a young family they made frequent trips to the mountains to camp and fish, and Adri relished driving back to the mountains as often as she could throughout her life. 

In 1967, Adri started working as a rural mail carrier in Ripon for the US Postal Service. She took  pride in prompt service, accurate deliveries, and personal familiarity — she would do her best to know all of the families on her route.

During her mid-life, Adri struggled with many health issues but persevered through them all, revealing her enduring strength of character, joyful approach to life, and deeply-rooted faith in the Lord. 

Adri was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and her brothers, Richard, Gilbert, Jack, Andrew, and Norman. She is survived by her children Dennis (Robin) Miedema, Peggy Van Groningen, Barbara (Mike) Pasma, and Sheri Maderos; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grand children; her sister, Trudy Camera; and her brother, William Moulyn (Jeanie).
