Beverly J Adams

Beverly JoAnn Adams went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2020.  She was the daughter of Russell and Mildred (Swenson) Thoreen.  Beverly was raised on the family farm in North Branch, MN.  Upon graduating from North Branch High School, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for North American Life and Casualty Company.  A friend at work, Marilyn Adams, became her sister-in-law after introducing Beverly to her brother, Warren.  Beverly and Warren Carter Adams were married on January 28, 1956.  The couple had three children.  In 1966 the family moved to Modesto, CA, later settling in Ripon.  For many years, Beverly served Ripon as an Avon Representative.  Longtime residents of Ripon might remember her delivering Avon door-to-door on her black Schwinn bicycle.  She enjoyed her customers and was a proud member of Avon’s President’s Club, which honors the top 7% of Representatives in the Nation.  In 1980, she began working at Bethany Home where she worked for 19 years as the Supervisor of housekeeping and laundry.  Upon retiring in 1999, she and Warren moved to their cabin in Long Barn, CA.  In 2013, Beverly returned to Bethany Home as a resident.  Several of her former coworkers were now her caregivers or were residents themselves, which gave Beverly a sense of comfort when transitioning into skilled nursing living.  Beverly enjoyed reading, doing work puzzles, and spending time at the cabin. 

She is survived by her children, Gail Adams (Kapka) of Columbia, MO, Mark Adams of Riverbank, CA and Michelle Ruffoni (Ron) of Stockton; her grandchildren, Nicole Wright (Jerread), Joleen, Kenneth, and Matthew Kapka, and Ryan Ruffoni, her great grandchildren, Madison and Kaiden Wright and her brother, Gerald Thoreen (Helen) and sister-in-law, Joy Brezinsky.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren, her parents, brothers, Harvey and Harold Thoreen and sister, Carol Anderson.  The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at Bethany Home for their loving care of Beverly since 2013.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to the Bethany Home Society of Ripon.
