Bruce V. Curtis

Bruce passed away on July 7, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to George W. and Irene Bruce Curtis on April 16, 1928 in Garland, Utah; the fifth of seven children. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly seventy years, Joan; two sons Bruce Craig and Brian Jeffrey; grandchildren Brianna, Rochelle (Jason) Lonn, Bruce and Jamie Curtis; great grandchildren twins Rawley and Chance Clarke and Brighton Greene; and siblings Raydene Cravey and Dr. Paul Curtis and wife Ann.

Bruce loved his family and enjoyed the time he had with them. He worked hard, going to school night classes to receive an Associate’s Degree in Arts. He worked for Santa Clara County for 28 years, most of that time as a manager of the Print and Photography department. He then began teaching Graphics Arts at Laney College. He finished his career working part time at the Modesto Bee.

Bruce loved sports, snow/water skiing, ice skating, but really enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends. He loved the Lord and transferred to Parkwood Seventh Day Adventist Church when he moved to Ripon in 1984. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and sang in a quartet for several years, also was asked to sing at weddings.

Bruce will be greatly missed. He especially enjoyed his family; each one was very special to him. He most loved and cherished the companionship and love he shared with his wife. Together, they touched many people because of their strength and unconditional love.

Bruce will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 3pm at Parkwood Seventh Day Adventist Church; 301 Claratina Ave, Modesto, CA.
