Carolyn Joann Parker, age 74 of Modesto, passed away from liver cancer on June 12, 2018 at Orangeburg Manor.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Oakland, CA and lived in the Modesto area for the past 54 years. She was a retired Executive Secretary, having worked for Modesto City Schools in administration for nearly 23 years. She had also worked for Modesto Christian Schools and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
Mrs. Parker had been a member of Neighborhood Church. She was a 1962 graduate of Modesto High School, where she was involved in the music department and was a long-term member of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of the Retired California School Employees Association and supported/volunteered for many charities.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob” Parker. They were partners in Hi-Tech Fire Apparatus in Oakdale for several years. She is also survived by her two sons, Bruce Parker (Kelli) and Steven Parker, both of Modesto, her sister Doris Weavill of Modesto, her grandson, Joshua Parker (USMC), and her one nephew, Carl Weavill also of Modesto. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lucille Osborn.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Parker family. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3rd at 10 AM at Deegan Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin Street in Escalon.
