Clifton Michael McRoy

September 20, 1954 ~ January 31, 2020 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Tribute

On January 31st “Mike” passed peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Birmingham, Alabama September 20th, to William D. and Virgina McRoy.

Growing up in Walnut Creek, California, Mike became an excellent athlete at a very young age. He was a natural at whatever sport he pursued, especially bass fishing. He started fishing at the age of three and never looked back. His love for fishing eventually landed him on several bass tournament circuits at a professional level including “West Coast Bass”,”US Bass”, where he qualified for a national championship at Lake Mead in Las Vegas, “American bass”, Delta Bass Anglers” and others. He competed and was well known in the Delta and Mother Load lakes region. Those were the greatest times for Mike. The only thing that brought him greater joy was his family. In 1980, Mike joined his father, mother and brother, David, to build a fertilizer distribution and storage facility in French Camp, CA. Early on he became V.P. of operations at Nu Chem Products. Mike’s smile and laugh were contagious and of course, we will never forget his quick wit and direct commentary. Mike was his own man and always did things his way.

Mike is survived by his wife, Marcia, daughters, Shawna Snell, Christy (John) Voyles, Michayla (Armondo) Orona and son-law-in, Justin Hunter and grandchildren, Kiah, Tyler, Trevor, Rocky and Connor.  Mike also leave behind his  sister, Paula Morris (Randy) and brother David McRoy (Linda).  Mike now joins his mother, father and beloved daughter, Monica in a beautiful place we call heaven. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed and so very dear”.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the McRoy family.  A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 29th at 11 AM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.
