Cobie Hoogeveen

Cobie (Jessee) Hoogeveen was born Cobie Doornewaard, in Wijhe, Holland on July 15, 1943. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2021 at the age of 77, after a long battle with Dementia.  

Cobie was a loving wife, the best mom, and adoring grandmother. Family and faith filled her life. She worked as a nurse for many years in Manteca for Dr. Veldstra. Helping people is what she loved doing. She was involved in many ways at First Christian Reformed Church and also at Calvary Reformed Church. Her first husband Ralph Jessee Jr., Passed away when she was 43. After 17 years living alone, she fell in love again. Edward Hoogeveen Sr. and Cobie enjoyed 18 years together, cruising, camping and enjoying family time with their combined families. Cobie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Cobie is preceded in passing by her late husband, Ralph Jessee Jr., and her siblings, Henny Hartkamp, Gerrit Doornewaard, Hattie Woudstra, and John Doornewaard.  She is survived by her Children, Lisa DeRuiter (Bob), Marc Jessee (Lynette), Ed Hoogeveen Jr. (Julie), Jonathan Hoogeveen (Megan), and Kristina Mazerac; grandchildren, Rebekah Holleman (Jacob), Ben DeRuiter (Krystal),Staci Jessee, Brianna Sims (Chris), Blake Hoogeveen, Bryce Hoogeveen, Kate Hoogeveen, Arie Hoogeveen, Lily Mazerac, Marielle Mazerac, and Paisley Mazerac; as well as 5 great-grandchildren.

Donations in her honor can be made out to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Center, located at 700 McHenry Ave, Suite B, Modesto, CA 95350.

A graveside service for Cobie will be held at Ripon Cemetery on February 26th at 10AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at Calvary Reformed Church at 11 AM, both officiated by Pastor Brett Dood.
