May 14, 1933 ~ April 27, 2022 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Tribute

was born on Mother’s Day, in Modesto, California, on May 14, 1933. He was the fifth son of Ernest and Ruth (Rumble) Bauman. Dad passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-eight years old, holding the hand of his loving wife, Charlene. Dad attended Prescott School in his early years, before moving to Waterford where he helped on the family dairy. He had fond memories of which he told tales of being pulled along the canal bank holding onto the tail of a bull and taking friends for rides in his horse and buggy. After attending Modesto High School, Dad went on to MJC and Cal Poly. He accepted the Lord and was baptized on September 12, 1948, into the fellowship of the Modesto Old German Baptist Church. He served his CO time at Camarillo State Hospital. Dad married Charlene Kaye Miller on October 6, 1957 in Pyrmont, Indiana. They had sixty-four memorable years together raising seven children. Although Dad experienced many setbacks during his life, he never stopped loving the Lord, praying for his children, faithfully reading God’s Word, or loving the Church. He continued to encourage his children to trust in Jesus up to the time of his passing. He also encouraged faithful attendance at church services, singings, and various fellowship activities with family. Dad was a hard worker and a good provider. He had many vocations, including farming, construction, trucking, retail nursery management and landscaping design. He excelled in salesmanship, selling kitchen cookware, almond shakers, church furniture, and garage doors. He is survived by his dear wife, Charlene, his children; Malinda and husband Monty Denlinger, Marlene Staley, David and wife Amy Bauman, Mark and wife Lindae Bauman, Rachel and husband Todd Denlinger, Gordon Bauman, Julie and husband Alan Smith, seventeen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Glenn and wife Laura, sisters-in-laws Naomi Bauman and Shirley Bauman, sister-in-law Bonnie and Russell Long, and brother-in-law Ray Miller. The children fondly remember his love of gardening, raising animals, and going camping. He shared with them his love of God’s creation, by taking them on many family road trips. He documented these trips by taking thousands of slides, which he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. He also loved researching genealogy, spending many hours drawing family trees, including the Bauman, Rumble, Gish, Cover, Wolf, and Miller family trees. Dad enjoyed cooking family meals, bible studies and family singings. We will miss his stories, sense of humor, and the twinkle in his eye. The family would like to thank you for your support and encouragement. The viewing will take place on May 5th, at 3:15-3:45pm, at Wood Colony Cemetery locate at 3511 N. Dakota Ave, Modesto, CA; Service and burial to follow at 4:00pm.
