David John Cuthbertson, P.E.

David John Cuthbertson passed away suddenly on Feb 9th, 2020 at his home in Ripon at the age of 72.  Dave was born on July 4th, 1947 to parents, John and Marguerite Cuthbertson in Rochester, New York.  He has been a resident of Ripon for the past 3 years.

Dave loved learning and was always in the pursuit of knowledge.  He had a life-long goal to receive his Professional Engineering License, which he finally obtained in 2019.  Dave lived to work.  Even after retirement, Dave continued working from his work bench at home, he did CAD work and any other electrical engineering he could find.  When Dave wasn’t working, he was a family man.  He was the rock of the family who will be impossible to replace.  He will be remembered for his generosity, his kind heart and his amazing work ethic.

Dave leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Cherie Cuthbertson, his children, Bob Cuthbertson and Lori Lichtenberger, his grandchildren, Alyssa Lichtenberger, Kayla Lichtenberger, Tara Cuthbertson, Rachel Cuthbertson, Aaron Cuthbertson, Austin Cuthbertson and his grandson-in-law, Ryan Flory.  Dave also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Calvin and Neal Flory and his sister, DeeAnn Martin.  Dave is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Cuthbertson.

Deegan Funeral Chapels is honored to serve the Cuthbertson family.  A Chapel service is scheduled for Monday, February 17th at 1:00 PM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel followed by interment at Ripon Cemetery.  Donations can be made in Dave’s memory to the American Heart Association.
