Dennis Norman Walker

Dennis Norman Walker passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023 in Modesto at the age of 75.  Dennis was born on August 31, 1947 in Richmond, California to parents Warren and Gertrude Walker.  He has been a resident of Modesto for the past 50 years.

After high school, Dennis enlisted with the Air Force Reserves serving as a sergeant.  He continued his education at American River College where he excelled at Water Polo.  He would later graduate from California State University, Chico with his teaching credential.  Dennis was a teacher for Ripon Unified School District for 37 years.

Dennis took great pride in being a dad.  He Loved coaching his boys and never missed an opportunity to be silly.  He always had the best dad jokes and would often mispronounce words on purpose everywhere they went.  He loved to travel in their RV and cruise the world with his wife, Rose Anne.  He was an avid 49ers fan, cheering so loudly that the neighbors would always know when the game was on.  He was a true handyman and had a love for exercise.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his contagious laugh and the ability to make friends everywhere he went.

Dennis leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Rose Anne Walker, his sons, Todd Walker (Danya) and Kirk Walker, his grandchildren, Abigail and Aiden Walker and his siblings, Robert Turner (Bernie) of AZ, Lana Walker of OK and Perry Walker of OR.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Walker family.  A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, April 3rd at 11 AM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his memory to the American Diabetes Association or the American Red Cross.
