Eleanora Adeilaide Mjeia passed away peacefully on October 12, 2020 at the age of 88 in Ripon, California. She was born Eleanora Adelaide Cerrato on February 14, 1932, to parents Vincent and Adelia Cerrato, in San Jose, California. Eleanora has been a resident of Ripon for the past 85 years.
All that knew and loved her knew Eleanora as “Nana”. She worked at the local cleaners in Ripon, CA and she was well known there as an excellent seamstress who could “do it all”. She was not afraid to speak her mind honestly. She had the kind of sass and confidence that most people only wished they could have. She loved to talk to all her friends on the phone, to get the latest scoop or just to say, “hey!” Above all else, Eleanora loved animals, her only daughter, her grandchildren and her family deeply. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly.
Eleanora leaves behind her daughter, Annette Mejia, her grandchildren, Andrew Brouwer, Michael Brouwer, Dylan Brouwer, Justin Brouwer and Crystal Brouwer all of Ripon. She also leaves behind her great niece, Lynda Plancarte. Eleanora is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Pete Mejia, her sisters, Olga Eisenga and Katrina Plancarte and brother-in-law, Louis Eisenga.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, October 23 at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at 11 AM. Eleanora’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Beth Haven Retirement Community.
