Eloy Tony Padilla

Eloy Tony Padilla Sr, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 3, 2021, in Modesto California. He was known as Eloy by his family and Tony by his friends. Born August 12, 1944, to Ernest and Carmen Padilla in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to California with his family as a child. He graduated from Fremont High School in Oakland Ca. and shortly after married Dorothy Helen (Varela) Padilla in August 1964. Although he worked many jobs in the early years, he was also the proud owner of Union City Bicycles for a while and then ultimately enjoyed 26 years working at UC Berkeley until retirement. They then bought a place in mountains to enjoy retirement until Dorothy’s passing in 2007. They had been married 42 years. A few years later he met Connie Harmon who he married in September of 2014. The two of them enjoyed traveling and hanging out with family until the very end. He was a friend to everyone and was always there to help whatever the need. He will be missed terribly by his wife, Connie; his children Eric & Rosanna (Padilla) Lehmann; Eloy (Tony) Padilla Jr & partner Gabriel Gorman; Carlos & Raquel Padilla; his grandchildren Jacob, Sebastian, Noah, Alex, Raina, Lito, Angelina, Alyssa, Marcus, Christopher, Natalie; great grandchildren Jasmine, Maddison, Aria, Sofia; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sisters Mary Clark, Estella Padilla, and brother Walter Padilla. He is preceded by his parents, his wife Dorothy, and his brother Roy Padilla.
