Elpidio passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2019 at the age of 89 with his loving family by his side. He was born Nov. 16, 1929 to Esteban and Casimira Ammata in Candon, Ilococ Sur, Philippines. In 1946 Elpidio joined the Army in Manila, Philippines. After he was Honorably Discharged, he began working at Coke-a-Cola as a delivery driver. He attended Feati Institute of Technology and Guzman Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines in 1959 to prepare himself to be a Diesel Mechanic. When he came to the United States, his first job was at Jackson & Perkins Rose Company, and then later was employed at Lawrence Livermore Lab where he worked as a Custodian and retired after 21 years. He also worked part-time/seasonal for Concannon and Wente Vineyards in Livermore. Elpidio was very knowledgeable about vehicles from the 50’s to the 70’s, raising farm animals and gardening. He enjoyed reading anything from the newspaper to the Bible. He enjoyed trips to JoAnn’s fabric store, going on walks and bike rides by himself when he was still strong. Elpidio loved his wife very much. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Elpidio is survived by his loving wife; Milagros Estrella Amata, children; Arvin Raguindin Ammata of Manteca, Daughter; Irene G. Ammata of Manteca, grandchildren; Lance “Max” Tremor of Manteca and Jaleyna Tremor of Manteca. He is preceded in death by his brother; Valerio Ammata.
