Evelyn Teresa Swass

Evelyn Teresa Swass, 92 died Tuesday, November 8, 2022 with family at her side in Escalon, CA.
Evelyn was born to Louis and Giovanna Betti on August 15, 1930 in Escalon. The 7th of 9 children, she attended Burwood Grammar School and Escalon High School. She has worked at Escalon Packer, Escalon Beauty Salon, and St John’s Cemetery. She decorated cakes for all occasions, and she became an expert at wallpapering. She and her husband of 64 years loved to dance. She never said no to helping anyone. Her latest passion was working as a docent at the Escalon Museum where she was a valuable resource of information about Escalon. She was always a very proud citizen of Escalon.
Evelyn is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 64 years, Mark E. Swass. Evelyn is survived by her children, Daniel Swass of Escalon, and Susan (Charles) Mussett of Sparks, Nevada; grandchildren, Ryan Swass of Oakdale, Callie Caddell of Sparks, Zachary Swass of Las Vegas, and Tyrell Swass of Oakdale; great-grandchildren, Claire, Robbie and Caroline Caddell, Adeline Swass and Sawyer Swass; as well as a brother, Bob Betti.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Swass family. A viewing will be held at Deegan Chapel in Escalon on Thursday, November 17th from 4-6 PM, followed by a Rosary Service. Mass will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon.
