Francis Wayne Groen

Francis Groen, 81, lifetime resident of Ripon, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023.

Francis was the beloved husband of Judy Groen for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and 3 children- Christa, Jeff (Julie) and Marc. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren- Jake (Carissa), Kaylin, Luke and Drake, and 1 great grandson, Baron Groen. Francis leaves behind 2 sisters, Donna Kloosterman (John) and Lynette Armagost (Art). Francis is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob & Josephine Groen, his sister, Joyce Groen, and granddaughter, Kacie Groen. 

After graduating from Ripon Christian High School, Francis attended MJC and Fresno State. Francis was an almond grower and worked as a Pest Control Adviser for over 50 years. Francis served on the Board of the San Joaquin County Mosquito & Vector Control District and enjoyed volunteering at the Delhi Thrift store.

Francis had a strong faith in God & relished opportunities to witness to others. Francis & Judy were charter members of Almond Valley CRC. 

Francis was a family man with a keen sense of humor. A true master of the grill, he enjoyed cooking for large groups of people, traveling with his wife and having coffee with friends. 

A private graveside burial will be followed by public memorial service at Almond Valley CRC in Ripon on Saturday, February 4th, at 11am.
