George Kenneth Brooks

George Kenneth Brooks passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017 in Oakdale at the age of 89.  Ken was born on February 13, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama to Charlie and Eunice Brooks.  He lived several years in San Pedro, CA before settling in Escalon for the last 11 years of his life. 

Ken worked for over 50 years as a Glass Glazer and during that time owned two successful business, Brooks Glass in Stockton and Mac’s Glass in San Pedro.  In his spare time, Ken enjoyed bowling and golfing and was great at both.

Ken leaves behind his daughter, Bonnie Pearson and son-in-law Rod Pearson, his grandchildren; Robert Guadagnolo, Danny Guadagnolo (Diane), Teri Langford (Brian), Zach Brooks (Mari), Scott Brooks (Eri) and Cassandra Burdick (Patrick) along with his great grandchildren; Cole, Luke, Nick, Sierra, Austin, Ryan, Lucas, Evan and Matthew.  Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Brooks, his son Mike Brooks and his daughter, Jennifer Rose.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel.  Per Ken’s request there will be no services.  A special thank you to Teri Langford for the care and love she gave to Ken these past few years.  Another special thank you to Astoria Senior Living in Oakdale and Optimal Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Ken in his last few months.  Donations may be made in Ken’s memory to Optimal Hospice.
