James Randall Bowen Sr.

James Randall Bowen, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023 in Modesto at the age of 93.  Randall was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1929 in Centralia, Illinois to parents, Jacob and Mary Bowen.  Randall has been a resident of the Escalon area for most of his life.

After high school, Randall proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. In 1953, Randall married the love of his life, Florence Elizabeth Tully and the two shared 49 years together until her passing in 2002. He worked for over 30 years for Sears as a service technician before retiring.  

Randall enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing.  In his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife and metal detecting.  

Randall leaves behind his children, James Bowen, Jr. (Vivian) and Vanessa Hasten (Rick) along with 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Randall also leaves behind his brother, Jacob Hershel Bowen.

 Randall is preceded in death by his wife, Florence and his sister, Laura Young.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Bowen family.  Randall will be laid to rest at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
