Jan Campbell

Jan Richards Campbell passed away peacefully at her home in Ripon, California on May 23, 2021. She was born to parents Raymond and Mary Richards in Long Beach, California on January 22, 1950.

Jan was a beloved Nona to two grandsons. She moved to Manteca in 1955 where she attended New Haven, Castle, and Summer Home. She graduated from Manteca High School in 1968 where she was a charter member of the Buffalo Gals. She moved to Long Beach, California and was a telephone operator for Pacific Bell. While in Long Beach, she met Michael Campbell and they married in 1973. She moved back to the Central Valley in 1980. She was active in church, youth sports, and became involved with the American Red Cross in 2010. While volunteering, she was deployed across the U.S. to assist in disaster recovery. Jan wanted to extend heartfelt thanks to her American Red Cross friends and Manteca High School classmates, with special thanks to JoAnn and Dan Edward of Manteca.

Jan is preceded in passing by her parents and sister, Judith Richards. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Michael; her children, David and Katie Campbell of Wisconsin, and Kelly Campbell of Orangevale, California; and siblings, Wade Richards of Arizona, and Daniel Richards of Riverbank.

Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel Is honored to serve the Campbell Family. A memorial service will be held for Jan at the Deegan Ripon Chapel on June 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jan’s honor to The American Red Cross Stanislaus County Disaster Action Team or the First Responder Support Network.
