Joao Vieira Avila

João Vieira Avila, 73, peacefully passed away April 24, 2022 with his loving wife by his side. João was born July 19, 1948 to Manuel and Maria Avila in Terceira, Azores. On September 23, 1973 João and Merces were married and immigrated to the United States the following year. João enjoyed being outside working in his garden and taking care of his trees. He was an avid player of cards with his friends at the Azores Band Hall. João and Merces loved taking trips to the ocean, especially Half Moon Bay. 
João is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Merces Avila; his son, John Avila; grandchildren, Caitleen Armenta and Elizabeth Avila and great-grandchild, Aria Armenta. He is also survived by his brother, Manuel Avila of Brazil and Maria Fatima Avila of Stockton. João is preceded in death by his daughter’s Melissa Avila.
