Joseph Anthony Schleiss passed away suddenly at his home in Escalon at age 60.
When Joseph was a young man, he was particularly active in the Catholic Church. He spent some time as a local farm manager. He then became a maintenance man for St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, maintaining the gravesites there. His disability made it difficult to continue the strenuous labor, and he spent the remainder of his life with his adoring mother by his side in their home. Joseph enjoyed spending time with family, farm animals, natural scenery and prayer.
Joseph is survived by his loving mother, Frieda Schleiss; sisters, Mary Freeseha, Rita Schleiss, and Frieda Vizcaino; along with a large extended family. He will be dearly missed.
