Lawrence “Larry” E. Roszell passed away on August 28, 2020, in Manteca, CA, days after his 85th birthday. He was born in Oakland, CA, on August 23, 1935, to Lawrence and Eva Roszell.
Larry took great pride in his country and his work. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and later served the Livermore community as a firefighter until his retirement in 1985. Outside of work, Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed RVing with family, hunting, and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva; father, Lawrence; son, Richard Michael; and grandson, Kevin Dayton Roszell. He is survived by his daughter, Laurel (Steve) Roszell; daughter, Denise (John) Van Till; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a niece, and a nephew.
Larry will be laid to rest during a private service for family at Burwood Cemetery. To remember Larry, the family requests that donations be made to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
