Maria Zulmira Ferreira passed away May 23, 2021 at the age of 66, with her loving family by her side. Maria was born August 2, 1954 on the Madeira Island of Portugal to Jorge and Deolinda Felix. At the age of 11, Maria and her family immigrated to the United States and settled in Tracy, California. She attended and graduated from Tracy High School. Maria was a resident of Escalon for the past 24 years. She enjoyed trips to the ocean, spontaneous drives with her husband, Manuel, to her “Ferreira Hide Away” in Arnold, camping with her family and her beloved dog “Chloe”. She loved to dance, had a passion for cooking and being involved in the Portuguese community.

Maria is survived by her husband of 39 years, Manuel; her son’s; Manuel “George” (Alicia) Ferriera of Escalon and Steven (Nicole) Ferreira of Stockton; grandson, Damien Tom of Escalon; siblings, Paula Madden, Anna Robinson, Isabel Harden and Evelyn Beraldo.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to be serving the Ferreira family. A viewing for Maria will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil and Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St., Escalon, Ca 95320. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Committal to follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
