Tribute

Marianne (Jamison) Bowman was born in Quinter, KS on July 16, 1935 to parents Ben and Iva (Garber) Jamison. She passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2018 at the age of 82.

She grew up in Quinter, KS and had a happy childhood on the family farm. She confessed Jesus as her Savior and was baptized into the Old German Baptist Church on July 5, 1953. She married Lloyd Bowman on September 29, 1954. In 1957, after living in Kansas a couple of years, they moved to Modesto, California. They were married for 63 years and blessed with 3 children.

Mom was hospitable and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was an excellent cook and well known for her baking, especially her cinnamon rolls and donuts. She maintained a large vegetable garden which she shared freely with many. Mom was very gifted when it came to working with her hands. There were not many things needed that she could not make herself and she did it well!

In September of 1998, Mom contracted viral encephalitis which she never fully recovered from. Her loving husband faithfully cared for her until they moved to Valley Comfort Assisted living in March of 2017.

Mom is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd, her 3 children and their spouses, Brenda and Steve Brubaker, Dan and Diane Bowman, and John and Kathy Bowman. 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Travis and Shanda Brubaker, Megan and Dusty Balsbaugh, Kyra, Cosette and Claire Bowman, and 4 great grandchildren, Isabelle and Caleb Brubaker, and Brooke and Luke Balsbaugh. Mom is also survived by her sisters Freeda Beachler, Betty Lou Garber, and one brother Larry and his wife Bonnie Jamison, a brother-in-law Les Bowman, 2 sister-in-laws Ruby Jamison and Annie Bowman. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Jamison, brothers-in-law Donald Beachler, Merlyn Garber, Levi Bowman and sister-in-law Ruth Bowman.
