Marie (Brouwer) De Bie, Ripon, went to be with Jesus on August 29, 2019 at the age of 91, after a short illness. She was born in Le Mars, Iowa to Jacob and Jennie Brouwer on March 15, 1928. She graduated from Sheldon High School in 1945. Marie married William (Bill) De Bie on April 14, 1950 in Bellflower, CA. They moved to Ripon in 1965 and she spent her life as a homemaker, raising her three children, sewing and her love of making baked goods for family and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1997, her daughter Jennifer Pater this past May, 2019 and her brother Jake Brouwer. She is survived by her son Dale and Bonnie of Ripon, son-in-law Marv Pater, of Ripon, and daughter Michelle De Bie, of Grand Rapids, MI. She was Grandma to Lisa and Greg Bauman, Krista and Richard Kohl, Monica and Dan Caetano, Stacy and Matt Yonker, Janelle and Nick Stever, Sara and Matt Swanson, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Joyce Van Gelder, Harriet VanDenBerg, Tena Barber and her brother Marion Brouwer, and.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, September 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Almond Valley CRC in Ripon, CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Bethany Home, 930 Main St. Ripon, CA 95366.
