Mark Wayne Heersink

Mark, 57, was a hard-working honest man who loved his family.  He faced an aggressive disease with strength and courage.  Surrounded by his family, he entered Heaven on September 26, 2021.  Mark loved the Lord and lived a life of faith.

Mark was born and raised in Modesto, California where he graduated from Ripon Christian High School.  He attended Modesto Christian Reformed Church his entire life and served as a Deacon and an Elder.

Mark grew up on a farm with his parents, Oliver and Gerry Heersink and five siblings; Ron (Wendy) Heersink of Connecticut, Eldon (Mariela) Heersink of Ecuador, Sandy (Bob) Kamps of Ripon, Linda (Gavin) Cheshier of Modesto and Deb (Steve) Cimoli of Modesto along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mark is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Mark married the girl next door, Lisa.  They just celebrated their 27th anniversary on September 24th.  Mark and Lisa have one son, William Reid Heersink of Cleveland.  His favorite thing to do was watch basketball with his son, Go Warriors!  He loved to travel and Italy was his favorite destination.

Mark also leaves behind family members, Roland, Mom, Jax (Danny), Bithiah (Sarah), Alec, Nounou, Dad (Nancy), Katrina, Nick (Arla), Rob (Kelli) and Giorgio and his many lifelong friends and his employer, Waterford Irrigation Supply, who treated him with love, compassion and support during his illness.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 9th at 11:00 AM at Modesto Christian Reformed Church.
