Matthew Paul Grover

Matthew Paul Grover passed away on Sunday August 22nd in Seattle, Washington at the age of 23. Matt was born on April 1st, 1998 and was raised in Modesto. He attended Big Valley, Hart Ransom and Modesto Christian schools. Matt spent the past year in Seattle pursuing his dream of living in the Pacific Northwest after spending two years at Grand Canyon university in Phoenix majoring in English. Matt loved animals and was thrilled to have a job at Blue Pearl Vet Hospital working at his position in radiology.
Matt was a kind, loving, caring person who had a heart for the homeless, the marginalized and those struggling with depression. Ultimately he was working towards using that passion to help others through a career in counseling.
Matt loved to read and was always encouraging his family to read something new by many of the authors he had discovered. He had a passion for writing and would often be found at a coffee shop working on a new short story.
Matt had a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, accepting him as savior as a young boy and was baptized at age 15. Matt struggled greatly with the pressures of life but we know that he now is in God's presence where there is no pain or suffering. We long to see him again one more time but until that final day when we see him in heaven we pray that Jesus will wrap him in His arms. In God's presence there is no pain, no suffering, no anxiety only peace.
Matt is survived by his father, Michael, mother, Sherri, brother Justin(Michelle), sister Nicole(Eric), nephew, Casey, and beloved cat, Burroughs. Also grandparents Gordon and Barbara Grover and Tom and Carolyn Balsbaugh along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
It's not the length of our lives that matters but the lives we live with the time we have.
Memorial service will be on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00PM at Big Valley Grace Church in Modesto. All are welcome.
