On June 29th, 2022, Nancy Lynn Hall passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at her home in Ripon, CA at the age of 67. Her strong faith in God was present throughout her life and remained with her until the end.
Nancy was born in Canada on April 12, 1955 to Neeltje Theodora Weeda (Nellie) and Pieter Ryken. At the age of 5 she moved with her family to Escalon. She grew up attending Ripon Christian and graduated from Ripon Christian High School in 1973 along with her friend Agnes Timmerman-Hischier, whom she remained close with throughout her life.
Nancy married the love of her life, David Hall in 1975, and shared 47 years together. Together they had three children: Jason, Kevin and Julie. Nancy was loved, admired, and cherished by her family.
After graduating High School, Nancy attended nursing classes at Modesto Junior College, and briefly worked as a nurse before discovering her calling in business. She was a strong leader and caring boss who was respected and loved by her employees. Together with her husband she helped successfully build a masonry company that continues to operate after 43 years.
Nancy loved the ocean and visiting the beach. She enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting and sharing stories with her sister Klazina Moseley, listening to music and playing with her dogs Sophie and Zoey. She always had a strong sense of humor and brought out the best in people.
As an active member in the Ripon community, Nancy took great pride in any role she could take on to support those in need. Since 2004, Nancy was a devoted member of the Ripon Rotary. Through her many contributions over the years, she developed a passion for serving others. She served as co-treasurer and president. During her time, she was a critical figure in the building of the Veteran’s Wall in Ripon, delivered meals to those in need, and ensured children of Ripon had access to needed school supplies.
Nancy is survived by her husband, her three children, her sister, her daughter-in-law Alisha Hall, and her two grandchildren Mason and Hadley.
A service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at Big Valley Grace Community Church in Modesto on Friday July 15th at 10 AM with reception to follow.
