Neill "Chris" Steves

Neill Christopher Steves passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017 in Modesto at the age of 51.  Chris was born on March 5, 1966 to Robert and Carolyn Steves in Manteca.  He has been a resident of Manteca most of his life. 

Chris had a generous, kind and giving nature.  He was at his best when in service of a friend or loved one.  He was an exceptional athlete at Manteca High and a coach at Oakdale High School.  He was happiest when accompanied by his faithful dogs and his family.

Chris leaves behind his father, Robert D. Steves, Sr. (Dolores) of Escalon, his mother, Carolyn “Connie” Steves of Manteca, his siblings: Robert D. Steves, Jr (Lisa) of Escalon and Bronwyn “Broni” E. Steves also of Escalon along with his nieces and nephews; Kristen Alexander, Mary Steves, Robert Steves, K. Christopher Howze, Kate Steves Howze and Nicholas Steves Howze.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel.  A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Deegan Chapel in Escalon followed by a memorial service on Wednesday, June 7th at 1:00 PM at Deegan Chapel.
