Nelva den Dulk

Nelva den Dulk passed away peacefully in her home in Ripon, California on February 25, 2021. She was born Nelva Blanken in Hanford, California on January 06, 1940.

Nelva met Walt den Dulk, a Ripon native, at a church camp in Mt. Hermon. The two were married in 1959, and remained so for the nearly 50 years, until Walt passed away in 2010.  While living in Ripon with her husband, Nelva enjoyed being a homemaker, and stayed busy taking care of her family of three boys. Nelva loved to play piano, and shared that love by volunteering to play for her children and grandchildren’s classrooms at Ripon Christian Schools, in their Sunday school classes at church, and at the Stockton Gospel Rescue Mission. Nelva also liked to spend time at the family cabin in Mt. Hermon and enjoyed traveling to other parts of the United States. When Nelva was at her best, she loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. In particular she had many wonderful times gathering with a close group of friends affectionately known as the “Hee Haw Gang.” She enjoyed time with the ladies serving a monthly hot lunch at Ripon Christian which allowed her to catch a glimpse of her grand grandchildren while they were at school. Another very bright spot for Nelva was gathering with the Tuesday morning ladies’ coffee group as well as spending time out and about with various other friends. Nelva was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church for over 60 years.

Nelva is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Walt den Dulk. She is survived by her children, Walter den Dulk Jr. and wife Lian of Ripon, Randy den Dulk and wife Shauna of Ripon, and Craig den Dulk of Ripon; grandchildren, Ryan den Dulk, Stacy Crook, Katie McKay, Adrian den Dulk and Anton den Dulk; Brother, Bill Blanken and wife Nancy of Hanford; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.

Donations can be made in Nelva’s honor to Ripon Christian Schools at 435 Maple Ave, Ripon, CA 95366, as well as the Stockton Gospel Rescue Mission at 4455 San Joaquin St., Stockton, CA 95203.

Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the den Dulk family, and a funeral service will be held to honor Nelva on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Ripon, CA at 10:30 AM.
