Nick Hoogendoorn was called home to his Lord on May 13, 2022 at his home in Ripon, California at the rare age of 104 ½. He was born on October 21, 1917 in Hanford, California. Nick is finally reunited after 79 years of marriage to the love of his life, Nettie, following her passing in 2021.

Nick was a devoted husband to Nettie, and the pair worked hard together on their almond ranch. Nick and Nettie then became loving parents, grandparents and great-grandparents to their wonderful family. Nick was a recognized pillar in the Ripon Community and a resident of 95 years. He served his Christian community as a Deacon, Elder and Charter Member of Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon. Nick will be remembered for his love and devotion to God and family, his warm and welcoming demeanor, his strong work ethic and his ever-positive attitude. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family, as well as his church family.

Nick is preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 79 years, Nettie, his dearly missed son, Nick Hoogendoorn Jr, as well as 2 brothers. Nick is survived by his children, Ken and Sandi Hoogendoorn of LaGrange, Marcia Hoogendoorn of Santa Cruz, and Debra Garcia of Vacaville; grandchildren, Kenny and Wendy Hoogendoorn of Ripon, Jeff Hoogendoorn of Ripon, David and Kim Hoogendoorn of Ripon, Ty and Kat Bedegrew of Roseville, Marty and Yolanda Kirchner of New York, Peter and Betsy Kirchner of Santa Cruz, Christina Vieira of Woodland, and Joseph and Sarah Garcia of Hayward; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on May 28, 2022 at Ripon Cemetery at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life service at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon at 11:00 AM.
