Richard L. McKinsey

Richard Lyle McKinsey passed away peacefully on March 24, 2018 at his home in Modesto, Ca. He was born on August 21, 1933 to Orvil and Mary McKinsey in Modesto, Ca.  Growing up in Ceres, he then moved to Escalon in his early adult years and is where he met the love of his life, Alma. In 1973 Dick and his family planted their roots in Modesto where they built a wonderful and happy life together.

    Dick was a diesel mechanic for 47 years. In 1996 he retired from Yolo Transport in Riverbank. He was a long time member of the Modesto Covenant Church. He was a loving and faithful man, husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He took great pride in his grandchildren and their many accomplishments.

 He is preceded in death by his wife Alma, his brothers Gerald and Gale McKinsey, and his parents Orvil and Mary McKinsey. Dick is survived by his children Richard McKinsey Jr and Jill McKinsey Eastburg, his brother Gary McKinsey, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

 A memorial service will be held on April 28, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Modesto Covenant Church, 913 Floyd Ave., Modesto. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Modesto Covenant Church Missions program.
