Richard Rios Vasquez

. Richard went to be with the Lord, January 22, he was 71. He was the son of the late Joe and Margaret Vasquez of Merced. Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shellie (Green) Vasquez and his daughter Cindy and husband Aaron Sypolt. Richard leaves behind his loving siblings, Manuel Vasquez, Josie Apicella, Stella Lozano, Anthony Vasquez, and Maria Van Zile, and 28 nieces and nephews.
He attended Merced High and Merced Junior college.
He joined the Army in 1969. He then went to work as a USDA/FSIS inspector. He worked part time for Salida Schools.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Deegan-Ripon Memorial Chapel,111 S. Palm Ave., Wednesday, February 3 from 3-6 PM, and a memorial at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Rd. Escalon, California Thursday, February 4 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to: Shriners Children's Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817 please include "Richard Vasquez" on memo line.
