Richard “Rodie” O. Wright Sr.

Spetember 8, 1946 – April 26, 2021

                Richard “Rodie” Orville Wright passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021 at the age of 74, at his home in Escalon, California, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to parents, Orville and Jessie Wright in Vallejo, California on September 8, 1946.

                Richard was a long- time resident of Ripon, California before moving to Escalon in 2012. He served his county in the National Guard from 1966 – 1972. He then  worked for the Nestle Company in Ripon for 27 years. Later, he became a landscaper and owned his own landscaping business until 2007. Richard loved to go camping and fishing, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He was a devoted grandfather, and never missed a chance to play the Wii with his grandchildren when they would come over.

                Richard is preceded in passing by his parents, Orville and Jessie Wright, as well as his siblings, Johnny and Donald Wright. Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Charlotte Wright; children, Richard W. Wright of Modesto and Heather Cox (Caleb) of Escalon; and grandchildren, Sabrina Wright of Modesto, Cameron Cox, Clayton Cox, Preston Cox, Jocelyn Cox, Savannah Cox, and Olivia Cox of Escalon. He will deeply missed by his family and friends.

                Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Wright Family. A memorial service for Richard will be held on Saturday May 8th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Deegan Ripon Chapel.
