Ronald Vrieling

Ronald Lewis Vrieling Sr, 83, entered into rest on September 19, 2017 in Ripon, California. He was born on March 12, 1934 in Stockton, California. Ron leaves behind his loving wife of almost 60 years, Evegene Vrieling, his children Kristi Terry of Modesto, Ronald Vrieling Jr. of Escalon, Doug Vrieling of Modesto and Julie Groen of Ripon. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Kim Reisz of Modesto, Karin Tosta of Elk Grove, Ronald Vrieling III of Escalon, Katie Terry of San Jose, Kellie Varni of Hughson, Sarah Williamson of Sun City, AZ, Jake Groen of Ripon, Christian Vrieling of Modesto, Kaylin Groen of Ripon, Luke Groen of Ripon, and 11 great grandchildren. Ron also leaves behind his siblings Juanita Poeltra of Winston, OR, Philip Vrieling of Tracy, Genevieve Bouwman of Florence, OR, Shirley Schemper of Ripon and Ken Vrieling of Ripon. Ron is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kacie Groen of Ripon.

Ron was a gentle soul, a loyal, hardworking man and a loving father to 4 kids. He was a devoted husband married 59 years, and has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was a proud, flag waving Army veteran, a truck driver and also a pilot who loved flying airplanes. He enjoyed camping and fixing up old cars, tinkering, garage sales, planting vegetable gardens, collecting guns, coffee shop visits with his buddies, and giving "Dutch rubs" to the grandkids.  His suffering is now over, may he rest in peace in Heaven. We love you and miss you already. 

 A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 3-5pm. He will be laid to rest at Ripon Cemetery on Friday, September 29th at 11am.
