Tribute

Rudolph Paul Luna was born on May 16th, 1954. He died March 7th, 2020 surrounded by his wife Carol, of 40 years and daughters. Rudy passed due to complications from his Loeys-Dietz Syndrome surgery. He lived his life bringing joy and friendship to every person he met. He was a wonderful husband and a dedicated father.  He loved his family more than anything. He had three strong daughters: Nicole, Lenea, and Elysia. He was extremely excited to be a grandpa of 2 grandsons Matix and Ryu and 3 granddaughters Zaya, Kenzie and Emeric. His greatest joy and focus in life were his family. Rudy loved being out in the backyard that he and Carol spent most of their time perfecting for everyone to enjoy. He loved watching the grandkids playing in giant mud puddles, getting dirty and just having fun, and sitting out back watching his birds eat. Walking his dog Jimmer was one of his favorite activities that he did daily. He was caring, loving, and generous to everyone he met. Rudy loved to talk to new people. He brought a positive attitude and outlook to life, in both his work relations and personal. He made a difference in so many people’s lives. His smile was infectious, people would open up to him and he could talk to them for hours about anything and everything. Through his 30+ years of working with youth, he was committed to enhancing their attitudes and lives for the better.  Rudy loved being outdoors, enjoying time in Yosemite National Park, Santa Cruz, and whatever road trip with friends and family.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carol, his daughters, Nicole Cano (Leandro) of Hanford, Lenea Luna (Tyler Bittner) of Moose, WY and Elysia Reed (Derek) of Riverbank. Grandchildren, Matix Paul, Ryu Rudy, Zaya Jean, Kenzie Rey and Emeric Luna. Siblings, Angela Reyes (his twin sister), Sylvia Luna, Teresa Luna, Elizabeth Telles, Robert Luna and Barbara Keck.

Rudy was a wonderful, thoughtful, and kind person, with a beautiful soul. He was one in a million. Literally. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. We ask, in Lieu of flowers please donate to the Yosemite Conservancy, Loeys-Deitz Syndrome Foundations, you can donate money or items to the Western Farm Workers Association in Stockton. A party in the backyard that he loved so much will be held when we are able to enjoy each other’s company again.
