Tribute

Steve Hofman, 84, passed on February 25, 2020 in Ripon, CA.  He was born to Jim and Anna Hofman on July 21, 1935 in Suawoude, Friesland, the Netherlands.  He immigrated to the US, with his family in 1949.  He was a member of Calvary Reformed Church where he served on many committees and as an elder and deacon.  He was a strong supporter of Ripon Christian Schools, where he was a past member of the School Board.  He had a passion for the dairy industry.  He served on various milk boards over the years.  He would vacation in his motor home on trips with friends and loved to go on fishing trips in Canada.  He looked forward to his time away.  But when he was home he would be at the dairy.  Until three months ago he was driving to the dairy early every morning (expect Sundays)!  He loved his chores.  His job was to get Sam and Darin coffee, help with bringing the fresh cows in from the maternity pen and keeping an eye on the dry cow pen.  He loved his coffee time at the dairy, discussing the plan for the day and the latest happenings in the milk industry.  Steve’s greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He has left us with a legacy of faith, love and respect.  Steve is survived by his wife, Audrey, his children; Sherri Bylsma (Sam), Lauri Ringeisen (Tony), Christine Carvalho, Mike Weststeyn (Amy), Karen Fountain (Jerry) and Diane Wiese (Paul), his grandchildren; Josh Ringeisen (Lori), Jessica King (Jason), Nicole Bodeson, Darin Bylsma (Tanya), Samantha Bruno (Anthony), Josh Bodeson, Tiffany Sybesma (Derek), Austin, Josh and Jonathon Carvalho, Walt and Garret Fountain, Beth, Erik, and Megan Weststeyn, his great grandchildren; Presley, Wyatt and Sydni Ringeisen, Whitney Ward (Jacob), Chloe Ringeisen, Danika, Sadie and Taryn Bylsma, EJ, Sammy, Dominic and Charlotte Bruno, Emma and Owen Bodeson, Benjamin, Anna & Cora Sybesma and his great great Grandchild, Violet Ward.  He is also survived by his siblings, Gerrit Hofman (Pat), Dirk Hofman (Linda), Alice den Dulk, Joann Wientz.  He is preceded in death by his first wife, Anna, whom he has joined in glory.  Praise the Lord!
