Venetia Lore’ Terry transitioned back into spirit peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, January 25, 2019. Venetia was born on December 31, 1933 to Brittie Elvie (Evelyn) Berryman and Edward Nelson Terry in Luling,Texas.
Venetia is survived by her adoring children, Deveron Long and Lyle Stoddard; beloved older sister and confidant, Marlene Coleman; her cousin Terry Ferry; nephews Kerry and Cliff Armistead; niece Renee Grootenboer; grandchildren Dustin Long and Melanie Mendence; and 4 beautiful great grandchildren.
Venetia was a retired office manager and a lifelong artist and lover of all things beautiful. Born into a family of artists, writers, and poets, Venetia could capture the spirit of any landscape, human portrait, or dilapidated barn on canvas. She left us with many of her paintings as treasured keepsakes.
Venetia chose not to have a service but would appreciate her friends and loved ones to instead spend some precious time in nature or any place of serene beauty to offer deep gratitude for the many blessings they have been given. Although her physical remains will reside at Burwood Cemetery, Venetia’s indomitable spirit resides within us all.
