Ysabel Marie Rockwell

Ysabel Marie Rockwell peacefully passed away March 24, 2024, at the age of 79, in Oakdale, CA. Ysabel was born January 15, 1945, in Oakland, CA, to parents Vincent and Katherine Manley and was the oldest of 6 children. 

Ysabel started her career at Waterford Elementary as a yard supervisor and teacher’s aide but quickly made her way into the district office as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent. She was devoted to the success of the Waterford School District for over 35 years. Ysabel was a founding member of the Waterford Education Foundation, a member of Soroptimist, Young Ladies Institute (YLI), Oakdale Country Club, OGCC Niners, former President of OLGA and a devout Catholic. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved her family and friends beyond measure.

Ysabel was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ernest Rockwell, her brother, Michael Manley, and her parents, Vincent and Katherine Manley. She is survived by her children, Lance Rockwell (Alicia) of Escalon and Amanda Tamo (Jim) of Grass Valley, grandchildren, Piper, Nolan, Ava, Luke, and Quinn. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Maguire of Grass Valley, Dan Manley of Pleasant Hill, Gerard Manley of San Anselmo and Rosemary Falasco of Ripon.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Rockwell family. A Rosary at 9:30am and Memorial Mass at 10:00am will be held April 8th at St Mary’s of the Annunciation in Oakdale.  A Celebration of Life will be held April 9th at 11:00am at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club. The family has requested flowers be sent to the Celebration of Life at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 Stearns Rd., Oakdale, CA 95361. Donations in Ysabel's memory may also be made to the Waterford Education Foundation (WEF).
