Edith Santini

Edith was born on August 4, 1925 to parents Julio and Assunta Santini in San Jose, CA.  The family moved to Escalon where she lived with her parents and five brothers and sisters.  In 1946 she…along with her father and sister, Lena…embarked on a trip to Italy where she met the love of her life, Renato Santini.  They were married in Segremino, Italy in 1947.  Shortly thereafter Edith and Renato moved to Modesto where she became a homemaker and mother of two children, Loretta and Stephen.

After fifty years of marriage, Edith spent her remaining years in Modesto where she loved gardening, cooking and visiting with loved ones. 

Edith leaves her children, Loretta Winkelman (David) of Atlanta, GA. and Stephen Santini (Kim) of Modesto, her grandchildren, Anna Winkelman, Jennifer Loudermilk, Emily and Joseph Santini along with her great grandchildren,  Matthew, Megan and Michael Loudermilk.  She is preceded in death by her husband Renato and her siblings, Annie, Fedora, Vincent, Emil and Lena.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels.  A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, September 21 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon.  In lieu of flowers please send remembrances in Edith’s name to; St. Jude’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
