Joseph Patrick Tinguely

March 4, 1930 ~ March 14, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Born in Los Angeles, Ca. to Joseph Edwin and Gladys Maye Tinguely,  "Patrick" was an only child to a hard working "jack of all trades" and an elementary school teacher.

Patrick attended Community College in Riverside, Ca and joined the Navy in 1952.  While out with friends he had the opportunity to meet a beautiful girl named Virginia (Schott), who was rumored to be promised to another. Patrick was shy but ambitious about the future. He won the attention of Virginia & they were married in 1953.  After serving with the Navy, Patrick returned to University of Cal. at Davis and completed a Master of Agricultural Education Degree with a minor in Agricultural Economics.  This opened his career in banking and finance. Patrick was quickly placed in a management position with Security First National Bank.  Always a continued learner, he returned to school, to obtain a Bachelor Degree of Animal Husbandry and completed Southwest Graduate School of Banking. He even made a run at the Bar Exam.

Patrick and Virginia had three children and it was Patrick who designed fun and recreation. Road trips cross country, summers at the Huntington Lake cabin, annual trips to visit family in southern California, water skiing, hiking the trails, and lessons in snow skiing. He had a passion for sailing boats and loved the life as the "skipper." Patrick and Virginia traveled often and even in his late years, Patrick was able to navigate global destinations. Home or afar, he was an avid golfer and played whenever he could.

Patrick retired from banking after 24 years and became the owner of a successful mortgage loan brokerage business. Throughout his life, he held officer positions for community organizations and charities. He and Virginia were active in the Episcopal Church and played important roles of stewardship for over 50 years. Patrick was always modest when recognized for achievements and accomplishments.

Patrick was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Virginia. He leaves behind children, Phillip Tinguely (Peggy), Karen Price (Corey), and Laura Rodrigues (Stan).  Grandchildren, Melissa Bridegroom (Ben), Alexandra Moscara (Mike), Winston Vella (Amanda), Cody Vella (Ashley), Nicholas Rodrigues (Kirstie), and Travis Rodrigues (Sarah).  6 great-grandchildren.

Donations in remembrance of Patrick may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1917 3rd., Street, Napa CA 94559 or the National Parkinson's Foundation.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
